Scarsdale Vets is preparing to open a new practice in Alfreton.

The veterinary surgery, on Nottingham Road, will open for business on Monday, June 27.

On the facilities that will be available at the practice, Scarsdale Vets said: “We have three consultation rooms for veterinary consultations and nurse clinics, plus a prep area and operating theatre to carry out routine procedures such as dentals, neutering and lump removal.

“There are also separate dog and cat wards and an isolation ward for your pet’s recovery post-surgery. In addition the practice also offers a dispensary, imaging room with x-ray and ultrasound facilities, laboratory and retail area.”

Before the practice welcomes its first pet patients, it will showcase its new facilities during an official Open Day on Saturday, June 25.

Members of the local community are invited to tour the practice and meet the team of vets and nurses.

There will also be a pop-up stall from Project Doughnut and fun for all the family, including activities such as nature workshops for children, free goodie bags and competition prizes to be won.

Competition prizes include a pet photoshoot kindly provided by Ginger Photography, as well as hampers from Purina.

Scarsdale Vets will also be welcoming local charities Grow Outside and Brinsley Animal Rescue to the Open Day.

Victoria Walker, practice director, said: “We can’t wait to welcome the Alfreton community with open arms into our branch.

“Our new team of vets and nurses can’t wait to get started and provide the best care possible to your pets in the local area.

“Alfreton will also be a cat-friendly clinic as well as opening its doors to exotic pets too, so feel free to come down whatever pet you may have.”

The Open Day – on Saturday, June 25 – will take place between 10.30am and 1pm.

Appointments at the Alfreton branch of Scarsdale Vets will be available Monday to Friday.
