A school governor vacancy has arisen at Alfreton Park School.
The unpaid role on the governing body at the special education school in Alfreton will involve being able to attend a number of meetings throughout the year.
A spokesman at Alfreton Park School, which is situated off Wingfield Road, said: “Our pupils describe Alfreton Park as a friendly, caring, exciting and safe Special School.
“We are located in the beautiful parkland of Alfreton, and we are lucky to be within easy access of our local community, with whom we are proud to have many links.
“We have the specialist knowledge to meet the needs of pupils aged two to 19 years with a diverse range of complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
“We are a warm and welcoming school with 129 pupils currently on roll and we consider ourselves to be one big family.”
The spokesman continued: “We have a vacancy on our governing board and we hope to recruit somebody with teaching and learning experience.
“Governing board meetings take place during school hours, usually either 10am-Midday or 1.30pm-3.30pm, six times per school year.
“The governor with teaching and learning responsibility would ideally be available an additional three times per year to look at pupil progress data and school development plans with leaders.
“We recognise how lucky we are to have such committed governors who give up their own time, and we will always work around governors’ own availability when arranging these meetings.
“If you are interested in the role or know somebody who might be, please email headteacher@alfretonpark.derbyshire.sch.uk or contact the school office on 01773 483330 for more information.”
