Students from the David Nieper Academy in Alfreton have been taking part in a number of sporting initiatives recently.
Mrs Frost-Briggs at the academy said of their KS3 Inclusive Sports Festival: “Pupils from DNA were joined by Swanwick and Aldercar School to participate in an inclusive sports festival run by the AVSSP (Amber Valley School Sport Partnership).
“Pupils got to experience two new sports: ultimate frisbee and tchoukball.
“Throughout the afternoon, pupils worked hard to learn new skills and to work as a team to participate in competitive games.”

Mrs Frost-Briggs also spoke of their Inclusive Football event: “Our KS3 inclusive football team recently took part in the local school football competition.
“They took on tough competition from Aldercar, Swanwick, John Flamsted, and Heanor Gate to finish in third place.”
