Stonebroom Primary and Nursery School celebrated the King’s Coronation by hosting a special event for their pupils and their families.

The Coronation Celebration took place on Thursday (May 4) and saw the children take part in a number of activities, including throwing sponges at teachers in the stocks.

Teacher Katie Rowland described the celebration as “fantastic”.

She said: “We first crowned a King and Queen of each class and then there were lots of stalls and games for families to participate in. These included a colour raffle, tombola, royal coin drop, guess King Charles’ favourite food and throwing sponges at teachers in the stocks. A wonderful time was had by all.

“As a school, we also held a Design and Technology competition. The children were challenged to make a product linked to the Coronation. Entries included royal cakes, wreaths, crowns and even a paper mache King Charles.

“It was lovely to see so many families get involved.”

Katie has kindly shared some pictures of the celebrations with us. You can see them in the gallery below.
