A community group in a Derbyshire village has announced that their summer time extravaganza will go ahead this year but that sponsorship is needed.
The South Normanton Gala, which is a large scale community event, is set to take place once again this Summer at its regular venue of Carnfield Hall.
A spokesman for South Normanton Gala said: “Like everyone else, the Gala Crew are having to watch every penny this year.
“We were faced with the prospect of not having a Gala this year, but after a good talking to ourselves, we decided we are The Gala Crew and we don’t give up easily.
“We know this is a big ask, but are there any businesses or maybe a group of friends that would like to sponsor an attraction or group at our Gala 2024 please?
“We have attractions and groups available to sponsor from £200 upwards.”
The spokesman continued: “In exchange for your sponsorship, we will promote your business, your names on our Facebook page.
“If you would like a banner at our Gala advertising your company and what you have sponsored, we can discuss further including the cost of the banner.
“South Normanton Gala is one of the last remaining large free events in existence in our area and we want to continue and to grow “
“If you think you could help us with sponsorship, please contact us.”
