The Ripley & Alfreton Musical Theatre Company is set to close permanently due to lack of fundraising and the increasing cost of productions.
Starting out as the Ripley Co-operative Operatic Society in 1936, it moved to Alfreton in 1968 and eventually became the Ripley and Alfreton Musical Theatre Company.
In 86 years, it has staged over 100 productions with its most popular being ‘Carousel’ – taking to the stage for performances in 1965, 1972, 1994 and 2012.
Bad Girls – The Musical will be the closing act and will be performed at Mansfield Palace Theatre from June 29 to July 2 2022. Tickets are £15.50 per person.
