The Stray Bobbin is relatively new to Alfreton but the Etsy business has been running for a few years.
It launched in the USA in 2017 but moved to Alfreton when its owner relocated here in July.
The small business is inspired by its owner’s – Mistianne Guzman’s – love of textiles, quilting and dance costumes.
It stocks a range of bodices, tutus and dance shoes, as well as quilts and dolls.
Mistianne explains: “Both my daughters help me design and create some of the products in my store.
“I have quilts, quilt patterns, one of a kind dolls based on real dance costumes – just shrunk down – and ballet costumes, cosplay and steampunk.
“We also recycle used pointe shoes into things of beauty. We try and recycle old dance costumes into new ones when we can.
“We just love playing with fabrics, bling and seeing people smile.”
