Till and cash stolen from children’s entertainment venue

Police are investigating a burglary which took place at an entertainment venue in Alfreton at the weekend.
Dawn Hare from the Brighteyes Softplay and Cafe, which is situated within the Genesis Entertainment Centre in Alfreton, has contacted the Spirit of Alfreton about the incident which saw a till containing cash being stolen, among a number of other items.
It is understood that the burglary took place at around 3am on Saturday (February 17).
Dawn said: “The burglary was in the Alfreton Genesis Centre, in the cafe at 3am Saturday, February 17.
“(They) damaged the doors of the centre to gain access and stole a till, with cash in, a bank card and some centre keys.”
Dawn also said that the police have been notified about the incident.
The Spirit of Alfreton has contacted Derbyshire Police for a response. A spokesman for the force said: “At 10am on Saturday, February 17, we received a report of a burglary at a business in King Street, Alfreton which is believed to have happened in the early hours of that morning.
“A till containing cash was amongst the items stolen during the incident and an investigation into the incident is in its early stages.”
