Lots of businesses and services often shut down over the festive period, and it can be tricky to know what’s open and who to contact for help.

We’ve put together a list of, what we hope, will be useful information about local services, as well as contact numbers and details of helplines.

Amber Valley Borough Council

The council offices close at 3pm on Christmas Eve and are set to reopen on Monday, January 4.

The council’s out-of-hours contact number is 01773 841 414.

You can check for changes to bin collections here: https://www.ambervalley.gov.uk/rubbish-waste-and-recycling/bin-collection-dates/

If you need help from the food bank, call 01773 811 273.
