A road within a Derbyshire village is set to be temporarily closed next month for water works to be carried out.
High Street in South Normanton is set to be temporarily closed from May 8 until May 10 to allow works to be carried out by Severn Trent Water.
Within their ‘Temporary Road Closure Notice’ a spokesman for Derbyshire County Council said: “High Street, South Normanton between Church Street and Market Street, will be closed 8th May to 10th May; to facilitate installing one new water connection from main in carriageway to customer.”

The spokesman continued to set out the alternative route which will be set out for drivers: “Fordbridge Lane, Primrose Hill, Alfreton Road, Chesterfield Road, High Street, Mansfield Road, Carnfield Hill, Market Street and vice versa.”
They continued: “Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road.
“The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
“Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190.”
