A Derbyshire village is set to be glittering with lots of family festive fun this weekend.
The South Normanton Christmas Lights Switch On event for 2023 will take place on Sunday (November 26).
As well as the official switching on of the village’s Christmas Lights, there will be carol singing accompanied by a brass band, and refreshments available.
A spokesman for organisers South Normanton Parish Council said: “We would like to invite everyone to our annual Christmas Lights Switch On event on Sunday, November 26, starting at 5pm in the Market Place.
“Come along and join in the countdown to this year’s festive season and watch this year’s Christmas Lights being switched on by our special guests and local residents Alice and Jo at 5.30pm.
“Carols being sung around the Village Christmas Tree from the choir of Churches Together accompanied by a brass band.”
They continued: “There will be plenty of free mulled wine, mince pies and hot drinks to keep you all warm. There will also be fruit drinks and chocolate gifts for the children.
“Please note: If you intend to come to the event by car, please park in alternative places such as the hub etc and walk to the event as the Market Place car park will be closed.”
