A number of venues across Derbyshire – including in Alfreton – are offering warm and welcome spaces to help residents with the cost of living this Winter.
Derbyshire County Council has a website portal where people can find out where their nearest warm and welcome venue is.
A spokesman for the council said: “Warm and welcoming spaces offer cost of living support, as well as advice on looking after your mental health and wellbeing.
“All of our libraries across the county offer warm and welcoming spaces for everyone, and you don’t need to be a library member to visit.”
In Alfreton, Christ The King Church is running warm welcome sessions every Tuesday between 10am and 3pm.
A spokesman for the church said: “We cater to all groups of people.
“Free refreshments all day and a free lunch served between around noon and 1.30pm.
“Games, jigsaws, activities, books to read, TV and wifi available. Toilet facilities, including for the disabled.”
