Alfreton Town FC shared the following news update on Monday, February 27.

Alfreton Town FC travelled to play-off chasing rivals Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday, February 21.

Despite a spirited performance, the hosts saw off the Reds with a two-nil victory.

On Saturday, February 25, the Reds travelled to Curzon Ashton and, with a professional performance, collected maximum points to move the Reds into eighth position (one place outside of the play-off positions). Four points behind seventh spot (currently occupied by Chorley) with two games in hand.

The race to gain a play-off spot is still very much the aim. Alfreton have fourteen further league games still to play.

Manager Billy Heath commented: “There is a lot of league football still to play this season. We are currently in a good place, but to finish in a great place we need to remain focussed on each and every game.

“The belief is good and the changing room is buoyed week in, week out, by the fantastic support that they are currently receiving, both home and away.

“With regards to reaching the play-offs, the matter is in our own hands. If we can keep a fit squad and the whole squad positively contributes in each and every game, we have every chance of getting into the play-offs this season.”

On Wednesday, March 1, Alfreton take a break from league activity when they entertain Derby County FC Under 21s in the Cawarden Derbyshire Senior Cup Quarter Final.

The game will be played at the Impact Arena, kick-off at 7.45pm. Entrance is via the turnstiles on the day. Entrance price is Adults – £10, Concessions and 16/21 year olds – £5 and U16s – £3.

The winners will play Belper Town FC away on a future date yet to be declared.

The club’s partners, Bottled Up Blokes, have confirmed their March schedule of activity at the Impact Arena.

On March 3, 17 and 31, they are holding wellbeing coffee mornings 10am-1pm.

On Tuesday, March 28, they will have a presence at the Impact Arena and at the home game v Spennymoor Town.
