Students at the David Nieper Academy in Alfreton have been taking part in a large scale maths competition.
Mr Doohan at the academy said: “55 students took part in this year’s Intermediate Maths Challenge a couple of weeks ago, and the results have just now been received.
“We saw an incredible 30 per cent increase in awards, with one gold, seven silver, and ten bronze certificates being earned by our students.
“There were no qualifiers for the Kangaroo this time, so the next Maths Challenge action will be the Junior Challenge on April 25.
“Well done to all students involved.”
