Students from the David Nieper Academy in Alfreton have been gaining a taste of uni life with a visit to Derby.
Miss Wetton at the academy said: “Year 12 students recently attended a Biology Taster Day at the University of Derby.
“They learned about the importance of biology in a variety of careers, such as conversation, cosmetics development, and even motorsport.
“Students toured the campus and were able to see the biological sciences faculty facilities, including the marine biology unit and scanning electron microscope.
“We also had the opportunity to take part in an augering fieldwork activity and a microscopy practical in the university labs.”
