A Derbyshire villager has been getting creative to help raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
Karen Davies, who lives in Newton, has been clicking away with her knitting needles to create a range of poppy accessories which she is selling to raise funds for the Royal British Legion’s 2023 Poppy Appeal.
Karen’s knitted poppies include small and large brooches with clasp pins on the back as well as poppies to wear in your hair. Prices range from £2.50 to £4.
Karen used to live in Sittingbourne in Kent where, back in 2017, she had a display of hand made poppies in her front garden in support of the Royal British Legion.
Karen, who moved to our area last November, said of her latest charity initiative: “I will donate 20 per cent of all sales to the local Royal British Legion.
“Collection is from Newton DE55 5.”
Anyone wishing to purchase one of Karen’s Poppy creations can contact her through her ‘Karen Elizabeth’ Facebook page.
