Amber Valley Borough Council is currently recruiting for a Markets and Town Centre Officer – a position which includes looking after Alfreton Indoor Market.
A spokesman for the council said: “Fancy joining our team as a Markets and Town Centre Officer?
“We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable person to work directly at Alfreton Indoor Market and within the Amber Valley town centres, delivering the market facilities to the public and administering this frontline service.
“The successful applicant will work under their own initiative with responsibility for the service at Alfreton Indoor Market and assisting traders and customers in daily operations.
“The post holder will need to ensure the market is a clean and suitable environment for traders and members of the public and ensure the smooth running of the market, responding to any issues as they arise.”
The spokesman continued: “In addition, the post holder is responsible for the managing and delivery of events and promotional activities within the four market towns of the Amber Valley.
“Applicants should be reliable and have a strong commitment to high standards of service and customer care.
“Applicants need to have good communication and numeracy skills and be flexible, motivated, hardworking, and able to forge positive relationships with traders, colleagues, and all visitors to the Market.
“The post involves a rota pattern of 18.5 hours across a two working day shift pattern; to be discussed at the interview. Week one: Tuesday and Friday. Week two: Thursday and Saturday.”
