Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit has warned motorists not to drink and drive following a serious collision on A38 Alfreton.
The unit shared shocking photos showing the aftermath of the crash on a busy carriageway.
The warning comes after officers at Amber Valley Response witnessed a vehicle crash into a barrier.
Police said the motorist was twice over the drink-drive limit.
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit shared a tweet Saturday morning (February 5) alongside a picture of the damaged vehicle.
