The Mayor of Alfreton is ‘honoured’ to be elected to represent the town on Amber Valley Borough Council.
Councillor Steve Marshall-Clarke, who represents Labour, was elected after winning 852 votes in Thursday’s (May 5) election.
He said: “I feel honoured that the community voted for me and I will work hard to get a fair deal for Alfreton.”
Asked about what he hopes to achieve in his new role, Councillor Marshall-Clarke said: “My key priorities are to do more to regenerate the town, make sure a number of highways projects make progress after years of delays, provide support for local environmental schemes in partnership with the Town Council.”
