If you’re looking for a fun, interactive class to take your young child to in Alfreton then Moo Music might be exactly what you’re after.

The 40-minute classes feature a range of different songs and activities designed specifically for children under five.

Classes in Alfreton take place at the Genesis Centre, King Street, on Mondays and Tuesdays – and anyone who attends is given a free pass to Brighteyes Soft Play and Café for after the class.

The classes are delivered by Clare Cotton, who launched her franchise in September last year after giving up a full-time job in Nottingham.

After working from home for 18 months during the pandemic, she fancied a change but didn’t know what until her younger sister had a baby.

Clare said: “She went to a Moo Music class that had just started in Sutton-in-Ashfield. I went to the taster with her and came away thinking there’s lots that you could do with that.”

Fast forward to now and Clare runs Moo Music classes in Alfreton, Somercotes, Blackwell, Morton and Ripley.

Her classes are for babies and children aged between six weeks and five years old.

Clare said: “I love it. It’s hard work – I have never worked for myself before, that’s the biggest thing for me. I think it’s all about networking with other local mums. It’s lovely to see the babies coming to the baby classes.

“The thing that makes Moo Music different is we have original Moo Music songs that we curated specifically for Moo Music. All the songs we have are put into a playlist every week and we have a theme every week.

“We always start with the same couple of songs and we always finish with the same couple of songs so the kids get to know the actions.

“We use all different props, instruments, dressing up things. We have lots of fun and they do a bit of free play so they can explore all the different toys and instruments.”

Classes can be booked termly at a rate of £5.50 per class, or you can pay as you go for £6 per session.

Siblings can also attend for a reduced rate.

Clare also offers birthday party packages and offers special classes during the school holidays.
