An Alfreton fabric retailer has unveiled plans for a series of crafting workshops.
Maisy Moo Fabrics, based at Alfreton House, will offer the workshops, which include classes on how to make a ‘Village Quilt’ and an introduction to patchwork, from September.
The business, founded by Cerian Moncaster, stocks a wide range of brands including Rose & Hubble, Makower UK and more.
It also sells a range of products including zips, ribbons, buttons and sewing buttons.
The details of the workshops are as follows:
Make a ‘Village Quilt’
First Saturday of every month, starting September 3
10am until 2.30pm
The workshop is suitable for people who are already confident with their sewing machine but would like to learn patchwork and quilting.
You will need your own sewing machine, basic sewing kit and fabrics of your choice.
Cost: £30 per session.
Introduction to Patchwork
Every other Tuesday, starting September 13
10am until 12pm
This workshop is suitable for people who are already confident with their sewing machine but would like to learn a selection of patchwork blocks at a beginners level.
You will need your own sewing machine, basic sewing kit and fabrics of your choice.
Cost: £20 per session.
Introduction to Stained Glass Textile Art
Saturday, September 17
10am until 2.30pm
Create an 18″ block from a choice of four floral designs.
This workshop is suitable for people who are already confident with machine sewing with curves and would like to learn how to make a unique stained glass effect.
You will need your own sewing machine, basic sewing kit and fabrics of your choice.
Cost: £30.
Make a Quilted Christmas Placemat/Table Centre
Saturday, October 8
10am until 2.30pm
This workshop is suitable for people who are already confident with their sewing machine but would like to learn simple patchwork, foundation paper piecing, quilting and binding techniques.
You will need your own sewing machine, basic sewing kit and fabrics of your choice.
Cost: £30.
