Stonebroom Primary and Nursery School is preparing to become an academy and join the Christopher Nieper Education Trust.
The trust, previously known as the David Nieper Education Trust, was founded in 2015 and currently sponsors the David Nieper Academy in Alfreton, which was rated ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted in November last year.
Thanks to the success of the academy and its close relationships with a number of primary schools in the area, another school – Stonebroom Primary and Nursery School – is now preparing to join the education trust.
Stonebroom Primary and Nursery School, located on High Street in Stonebroom, is undergoing the formal process to become an academy and join the education trust.
It is expected to join the trust early in the next academic year.
Kathryn Hobbs, CEO of the Christopher Nieper Education Trust and headteacher of the David Nieper Academy, and Sara George, headteacher of Stonebroom Primary and Nursery School, have written an article for the Spirit of Alfreton giving more detail about the plans.
