Parent Advice Drop In Session at Callum’s Voice Hub

A Parent Advice Drop In Session (SEND) with Nikki Purcell is being held between 10am and midday on Tuesday, December 12 at Callum’s Voice Hub, Room 12 in Alfreton House.
A spokesman for the charity said: “Callum’s Voice are pleased to announce that our volunteer education advisor Nikki Purcell is now able to hold a third drop in session. Nikki has been working with parents to achieve positive results for their children and now has some capacity to help further families.
“Nikki is an Education Consultant with Purcell Education Advisory Service who is a former Leader of Schools and has a wealth of experience:
“33 years in education working in inner city mainstream, residential special schools, Pupil referral units and Specialist Independent Schools; 24 years of experience of working with children and young people who are Neurodivergent and thus require a more creative approach to education in order to achieve the success they are capable of; and 24 years of working alongside families and other professionals to help their children achieve their full potential.”
The spokesman continued: “Nikki can offer: A non judgemental and experienced ear for listening; Advice for navigating the education system, including requesting an EHCP assessment, the EHCP review process and parental preference; Advice and support working in schools to create the right environment for your child; Advice for schools on how to show progress for children and young people who are neuro-diverse.
“Nikki will be available for initial advice to parents at our well-being hub in Alfreton House on December 12 from 10am to noon.
“No appointment is necessary. This drop in session is free of charge. although any donations to Callum’s Voice are very gratefully received.”
