Volunteers who don’t mind “a bit of mud, sweat and fluffy ears” are being invited to help out at an Alpaca farm in Derbyshire.
The team at Brackenfield Alpacas, which offers Alpaca Trekking, Stud Services and more, is on the look out for volunteers to join them at Mount Pleasant Farm, Back Lane, Brackenfield.
A spokesman at the farm said: “We are looking for volunteers to join our friendly, hard working team on a Wednesday and at weekends.
“The role is suitable for any fit and healthy person over the age of 16 and will include paddock maintenance and helping out with husbandry and trekking.
“So, if you are starting out your career in animal husbandry and want practical experience, want to enjoy the countryside and get fit or just want to make new friends (human and alpaca) and don’t mind a bit of mud, sweat and fluffy ears, this could be the role for you.”
To find out more, and to register your interest to volunteer, contact the farm via their Facebook page here or email hello@brackenfieldalpacas.co.uk
Meanwhile, Brackenfield Alpacas has a number of Alpacas for sale.
The farm spokesman said: “Have you ever wanted to own alpacas? Now could be your opportunity.
“We have some wonderful girls and boys for sale, all of whom are halter trained so can be used as trekking boys, a starter herd or just as pets.
“We are absolutely committed to our girls and boys going to a good home so we ask that anyone interested has attended a husbandry course or would be willing to do so on the farm prior to delivery.”
