An amnesty bin will be placed in Alfreton this week as part of a national campaign to tackle knife crime.
The bin will be in Severn Square on Tuesday (May 17) between 11am and 1pm.
The amnesty is one of many set to take part across Derbyshire this week as part of Operation Sceptre, a national week of action to tackle knife crime.
Superintendent Sarah McAughtrie, of Derbyshire Constabulary, said: “Of course we understand that these amnesties may not reach those intent on carrying a knife, however if it gets one potential lethal weapon off the streets of Derbyshire it is worth doing.
“Our officers will also be available at these locations to speak to anyone worried about someone they think may be carrying a knife.”
