The UK headquarters of global food product manufacturer Griffith Food’s in Alfreton has undergone a £70k transformation project of its main entrance and car park with waste plastic company, MacRebur.
Using MacRebur’s revolutionary MR8 product and process, the project saved the equivalent in weight of 181,620 single use plastic bags and has offset 3423.5kg in CO² emissions.
The process uses up problematic waste plastics destined for landfill or incineration and adds them into asphalt for road and surface construction to provide a more durable road surface.
The entire project was completed in seven days and involved the installation of new kerbs and steps linking the carpark. Approximately 1,600 sqm of land was resurfaced and forms part of Griffith Food’s vision to safeguard its site for the future.
