Sweet giant HARIBO has confirmed plans to open its second retail outlet store at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands.
Spanning 1500 sq ft, the new store is set to launch before Christmas. It will be the seventh outlet in the brand’s portfolio and joins shops in Pontefract, the McArthurGlen Designer Outlets in York, Cheshire Oaks, Ashford and the West Midlands, along with a store at Clarks Shopping Village in Somerset.
Managing director of HARIBO UK, Jon Hughes, said: “After a successful launch in the West Midlands earlier this year, we are pleased to extend our footprint and investment so soon, locally.
“HARIBO is all about bringing out the inner child in all of us and sharing moments of childlike happiness. Our stores certainly do that. We can’t wait for shoppers to enjoy the experience at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands, it’s just like when you were a child and walked into a sweet shop.”
David Jackson, centre manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands, said: “The opening of HARIBO at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands is a fantastic opportunity for the local community, driving additional jobs throughout the area.
“The HARIBO team is currently recruiting two managerial roles as well as additional team members to support this new launch. We are delighted to welcome such a well-known brand that is loved by adults and children alike and look forward to spreading a little joy when the store opens!”
Recruitment in support of the new store is currently underway, with initial vacancies including a Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. Additional team members will be appointed ahead of the launch through further recruitment activity.
