An Alfreton-based charity will be hosting a special event next month.
Callum’s Voice, which is situated within Alfreton House, hosts regular crafts sessions for young people to enjoy.
Founded in memory of Callum who was tragically lost to suicide at just at 18 in April 2019, Callum’s Voice was originally a Community Interest Company (CIC) and then became a fully registered charity in February 2020.
The charity will be hosting a Five Year Anniversary Event on Saturday, April 6, at 10am.
Callum’s mum, Laura Taylor, who founded Callum’s Voice said: “On April 7, 2019, mine and my family’s lives were changed forever with the tragic loss of my beloved son Callum. Callum had taken his life at the age of just 18.
“Vowing, to honour my son and to ultimately prevent other families from going through the same heartbreak, I founded Callum’s Voice.
“Originally a C.I.C (community interest company), after lots of hard work and dedication we became a Registered Charity (1187720) in February 2020 with a mission to support autistic children to achieve and maintain positive mental health so that they can lead happy, healthy lives and a vision of helping to create a world where children and young people with autism and mental health conditions are understood, included, valued and supported.”
Laura added: “Join us five years on to celebrate the amazing man Callum was and the journey of the charity founded in his name.
“Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
