Residents invited to annual parish meeting

The annual Parish Meeting for a Derbyshire town is taking place this month.
Tuesday, May 21, is the date for the meeting which is being hosted by Alfreton Town Council.
Starting at 6.30pm, it will be held in Room 1 at Alfreton House in High Street.
Town Clerk and Proper Officer at Alfreton Town Council, Tina Crookes, states on the official notice about the meeting: “All electors for the town of Alfreton are entitled to attend the above meeting, place items on the agenda and vote.
“If you wish to place an item on the agenda you must write to me, at Alfreton Town Council, Rodgers Lane, Alfreton, DE55 7HH, no later than noon on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
“Items received so far are: 1) To hear an address from councillor Hannah Jowett-Frost town mayor; 2) To receive the town mayor’s annual report; 3) To read and consider the minutes of the annual parish meeting 2023; 4) To hear a report on the finances of Alfreton Town Council; 5) To hear items from members of the public.”
The Parish Meeting will then be followed by the town council’s regular monthly meeting.
