A public inquiry into a bid to open a solar farm in the Alfreton countryside is set to open next month.
The inquiry will look at an application to build a solar farm spanning 75 hectares on land at Hall Farm, off Church Street.
If approved, the project would have generated up to 49.9MW of clean energy for around 11,500.
However, a planning application seeking permission to build the site was refused by Amber Valley Borough Council in December last year after the bid attracted 538 letters of objection.
Subsequently, Kronos – the company behind the planning application – launched an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate to try to have Amber Valley Borough Council’s decision overturned.
The public inquiry is being held as part of the appeal process.
It will open at the Post Mill Centre, in South Normanton, on Tuesday, October 18.
The inquiry will be streamed online but members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting in person.
The public notice containing details of the public inquiry can be seen in the gallery below.
