Reds winless run continues.
It was a tough assignment for Alfreton Town when they visited AFC Fylde on Saturday (November 26), losing 0-20 to a side vying for promotion as well as recording their third straight defeat on the road during November.
The Reds though were boosted by the return of Yusifu Ceesay, who was unlucky to be ruled off-side when his long range shot squirmed through under keeper Chris Neal for what would have been a 29th minute equaliser.
Emeka Obi had given the Coasters a ninth minute lead when he headed home at the near post following a short corner routine, this moments after Bailey Hobson had seen a shot blocked at source for Alfreton.
The Reds plugged away at the deficit with Tom Denton seeing his header saved by Neal on 44 minutes, then nine minutes into the second half Conor Branson bundled over in the box after a series of passes between Josh Clackstone and Hobson on the right, but referee Stuart Morland remained unimpressed.
A Nick Haughton free-kick and a drive by Siya Ligendza were dealt with competently by George Willis before Jordan Thewlis embarked on a run in response only to see his final effort blocked.
Ceesay was next to try to restore parity but his shot was saved by Neal, then with seven minutes remaining all hopes were dashed when Obi was brought down and Haughton lashed home the resultant penalty.
