There is lots on offer at a community pantry initiative in a Derbyshire village.
Oscari is a scheme which is run from the Church Of Christ, Colledge Street in Riddings. It offers a multitude of help and support including a community pantry where residents in need can purchase food and other products at very discounted rates. The initiative also runs craft sessions and a foodbank.
It is open on Mondays from 10am until 12.30pm; Tuesdays from 10am until 2pm; and on Fridays 10am until midday.
A spokesman for Oscari said on Monday (March 8): “Good evening ladies gents and pantry folk of all kinds, boy do we have a pantry for you, not only do we have amazing freezer packs, we have a fruit and veg stand full of amazing produce.
“Our shelves are stocked to the rafters, we have amazing ‘snackages’ and chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate, our sales shelves a full full full and at 50p a box you cannot go wrong.”
They continued: “Imelda is back with her corner cafe, where you’re welcome to sit drink and have a chat.
“We have our usual citizens advice to help you out.
“There’s loads going off in the pantry, so come down, do a shop or just have a cuppa and a chat with your pantry friends.”
